Fatahillah Museum Jakarta The Review

The historical  fatahillah museum in located in kota tua (old city) area, despite the many years of living in  Jakarta . Frankly, this is  the first time i stepping in the history museum  of  Jakarta, strangely i knew the old city area for along time but never new there a museum on it. Due my lack knowledge of this city mapping.

Jakarta museum has an extensive garden in front, where you can selfies, play kites  even here there is also a bike rental place. Unfortunatelybad management front make garden  looks shabby and kind a dirty, but many foreign tourists who come took a picture, they often sit back and rent bicycle. Not only slum children were milling about the streets and thugs, here i kind a worried holding the camera.

Turning inside the museum there many relics of the true VOC era, this place is the home of a VOC governor, you will notice Hermes statue located in the middle of this park. Indeed this grerek stuf is fatahillah museum collections eventough the mortar mix is the greek god Hermes and had nothing to do with the history of the VOC, but this statue is a gift to Dutch goverment by maestro of Italian  DaVinci.

This two-level museum exibith many paintings that unfortunately there is no detailed explanation of who they are, and the condition is dusty, look like someone neverbeen clean it. In addition to painting the second floor also contains a lot of furniture heritage of the Dutch goverment, the arrangement displays these items seem perfunctory even wood floors are perforated and porous many very worrying safety. Many are only given string and paper with text forbidden to occupy.

In addition to the many relics of Dutch goverment furniture, some inscriptions were placed on the bottom floor. While on the outside of the park I was interested to see the dungeon in which many human chain in brackets, but I canceled the intention to take pictures inside because in addition to shortness of this dungeon smell of urine and feces of rats.

The last i can write is very sad how local goverment take care of this museum, admission is not much but that's no reason to make this Jakarta icon becomes dull, dirty and rundown. If they put the museum into the government budget but why look like a neglected huh? Where the capital of the department of tourism? invisible near future ?.
